About Travel Buggz

The Travel Buggz stories are based on the adventures of the author and her two children, as they grew up. A single mom, her son and daughter, had many adventures visiting various places in and around South Africa and abroad.

Journaling on vacation was a way of keeping busy for Sandy while the children enjoyed playing with their friends. From these journaled experiences the Travel Buggz was born.

The first in the series, “The Travel Buggz visit the Kruger National Park”, sparked the rest of the stories.

Scribbled notes, typed copies, editing and many hours of proof reading later, the first book was launched in May 2018.

From the story, Michael Rogers, Illustrator Extraordinaire, extracts the concept and feel, submits pencil sketches that depict each unique scene.

After tweaks and touch ups, colour is added to the graphics before the story and illustrations are combined to bring the story to life.

Michael Rogers has the innate ability to capture the exact moment each page’s story tells, often with little or no changes required.

The Buggz take on a humanized character that sparks the imagination of children and draws them into the story, making them feel a part of the adventure.

Travel Buggz is also offers Kruger National Park, Safaris and regional tours for tourists.
