Breast cancer is the most common women's cancer in South Africa with one in 29 women diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, The key is to detect breast cancer early so that you can get treatment and have a better chance of survival. Currently the methods used to detect suspicious signs of breast cancer depend primarily on the combination of physical examination, mammography and other examinations for example; C.T scans, ultrasound and MRI. While this approach has become the mainstay of early breast cancer detection, more is needed. As the ultimate goal of absolute prevention of breast cancer has not become a reality as of yet, efforts must be directed at detecting breast cancer at its earliest stage. As such, the introduction of Digital Infrared Imaging (DII), as utilized in Breast Thermography, the frontline of early breast cancer detection, it brings a great deal of good news for all women young & old. ThermoMed(c) utilizes the latest Flir High Definition cameras and AMIA Board Certified Medical Technicians to carry out exams, these are non-contact & painless, providing doctors & patients with high quality thermograms, This procedure will not harm the patients in anyway, the vast majority of our patients are very pleased with the procedure, Note Digital infrared imaging scans show the function, physiology and the metabolism of breast tissue.
