Maria Elliot Physiotherapy

Maria Elliot stems from Finland originally where she gained her 4 year BSc Physiotherapy Degree. After graduating in 2002 she moved to England to live and gain experience in her profession. She worked as a physiotherapist mainly for NHS based intuitions where she gained broad exposure in her chosen field and completed numerous courses. With a strong interest in the management of pain, Maria undertook a Master's Degree in Pain Management through the prestigious King's College of London which she completed in 2007. The following year she moved to South Africa where she worked as a Chief Physiotherapist at Grey's Hospital in Pietermaritzburg and several other Durban based private practises before opening her own.

Maria makes use of a multitude of techniques including manipulation and mobilisation, massage, taping, exercise programmes, electrotherapy (eg. ultrasound) and in some cases acupuncture/dry needling in order to relieve patients of pain and allow them to resume with nor censoredactivities as quickly as possible.

Treatments are charged at Medical aid rates and take 45 minutes for the initial assessments with follow-up sessions lasting 30 minutes.
