Hilton Avenue Cosmetic Manufacturers (originally known as Le miel Cosmetics) was founded in June 2000, with the original formulations being developed by a Biochemist with a PhD in traditional medicines of South Africa and plant secondary metabolites.

Le miel Cosmetics began as a small operation focusing solely on handmade soaps produced in an age-old fashion passed down through the centuries.
In 2001, Le miel decided to move forward and introduce formulations for creams and lotions, making use of natural ingredients such as almond oil, avocado oil, beeswax and the essential oils. Later that year Le miel's Lavender Lotion placed runner-up in the Marie Claire Prix d'Excellence South African Beauty Awards - this sparked inspiration.
The Le miel range rapidly developed to include an array of bath and body products as well as specific skin care ranges.

Now, over a decade later, Hilton Avenue Cosmetic Manufacturers offers products and services ranging from skin care to guest amenities to bulk manufacturing for various businesses country wide.
